Falcon, Colorado is an unincorporated community in El Paso County. The bordering Roads per Pikes Peak MLS for Falcon, Colorado would be Rex Rd on the northside, US Hwy 24 on the eastside, Black Forest Road on the westside and Woodmen Road on the southside. Allot of people confuse Falcon and Peyton. A railroad hub in the early 20th century, the town spent several decades as a quiet ranching community until it experienced rapid residential growth throughout the 1990s which has continued increasingly through today. On June 5th, 1998, Falcon AFB was renamed to Schriever AFB in honor of the retired General Bernard A. Schriever, who pioneered the development of the nation’s ballistic missile program and is recognized as “the father of the U. S. Air Force’s space and missile program”. General Schriever passed away in 2005 but what a great legacy for our town. Schriever AFB is home to more than 7,700 military and civilian employees. The base indirectly contributes over $1 billion to the local Colorado Springs, Colorado area annually.
