Ute-Pass Colorado

The word UTE was given by the first inhabitants of these mountains. The area that we now call Pikes Peak. Pikes Peak is one of Colorado’s fourteeners, & the eastern most of the 14,000-foot peak in the US. Located just 10 miles west of Colorado Springs. Ute history, God/Great Spirit, was an energy that is within everything and throughout the universe. Certain places are power points for this energy, much is the eastern convention of chakras. There are four main energies: Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Sun embodies the energy of fire, and this is the force of energy at Pikes Peak. Therefore, it is Sun energy, Tava. Some historians will call the peak Tabakaiv or Tabatzhaiv, Mountain of the Sun. It would be more correct, to say Sun Mountain. The area of Ute-Valley then includes Pikes Peak. Many come to this area seeking the cleaning water of Manitou then off to hike, drive, take a Rail ride up to Pikes Peak to get more chakras..Sun Energy. Pikes Peak is called America’s Mountain it attracts more than 500,000 visitors every year, making it the most visited peak in North America. But you have to be careful of coming into Colorado and ascending this mountain because the Elevation is 14, 110 feet. So be well hydrated and rest often. My Mother in law would say she loves when people come to visit her here in Colorado Springs as they often find themselves napping early in the afternoon as the altitude will affect most people that way. But the views are absolutely amazing once you get there.

Someone might ask where do I go fishing while in the Colorado Springs area. Well the Rampart Reservoir would be the place. The 500 surface-acre reservoir is open from April 26 to December 1. Anglers will find lake, brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. Surrounded by trails and forests, the reservoir is also a great place to hike, bike and camp.
